When did you last say to yourself “I’m worth it?”, or have you ever uttered that statement?
This can range from small to large – buying yourself a more expensive pair of shoes than usual (I’ve just done that!); treating yourself to afternoon tea; or when you’ve taken your courage in both hands and jumped off the precipice.
When you honestly want something, you will find the courage and you will take action. I know from my own experience, and of those I have worked with, that if you want good things to happen for you, you will make the right decisions for yourself regardless of your fears and the voices in your head (as well as from others in your life) telling you not to bother, not to take risks, stay safe and be part of the norm.
In other words – don’t stand out and be different. Be the same as us! These reactions can wear you down and cause you to give up. I say – carry on regardless of what others may think or say about you. Remember that their voices can feed in to your own fears and negativity and you don’t need that. You can spiral downwards and lose the momentum of action. You need all your energy to support yourself, breath into your “I’m worth it” voice, as, if you want your life to be different, it’s time to listen to that voice.
In Sweden, there is a word “lagom” which means neither too much nor too little. So it’s time to breathe into your courage – be visible, take action and say to yourself, “I am worthy of being myself, and if that means that I stand out then that’s fine by me”.
Go on, take the risk – I dare you!
