LIFE TAKES OVER !!!
I can tell you this that my blog is advice free – What I don’t have for you today is ADVICE or my Words of Wisdom!!
You will be so pleased as I’m sure you know many people who can give you that. So what I want to say is that you’re growing yourself – yes, you are doing it all yourself – through all the experiences you’re having, have had and will have – good, bad or indifferent.
Life takes over
I have mentioned before, I have written on the back of my business card
‘Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans’ (John Lennon).
I choose this because, other than I love it, it sums up for most of us (and me, in particular, these days!) that life takes over, and usually unexpectedly, whenever it wants!
I am suggesting that if you insert experience in place of life, that’s what you get when your plans don’t go as you wanted them to. This can be really, really tough and yet experience is what enables you to build your coping muscle to deal with life.
Experiences
This year, there have been at least two experiences that have caused me to re-look at how I cope with life. One was at the end of the summer when I fell off the couch and broke a wrist bone (still not fully healed), and then recently I decided to write off my car (and almost myself!) when I smashed into a car park’s steel surround at full pelt.
I have to say everyone was so supportive – Police, Hospital Staff, family, friends… I am still in pain although very slowly coming through that by sleeping and resting a lot (coughing, sneezing, laughing and getting in and out of bed is still painful).
My gratitude is that I am still alive AND that is what I say each and every day.
As you all know, however much you and I wish and plan, or put out good thoughts, life doesn’t always turn out as you want and things don’t always occur when you expect them. I could say that this is what makes life so interesting. Although, to be honest, I have to say that ‘interesting’ is not the word I am using at the moment!! You can insert any other word tha that!
All I know at the moment is that I need to take care of myself, have lots of rest and healing, and use my energy appropriately to do just that.
It’s not easy and yet it is how it is.
I can now say that I lied! Here is my one piece of advice – go with the flow or swim with the tide.
Go Well.
