Are you someone of importance? Do you hold your head up high and say ‘this is true for me’?
In my opinion, there are too many of us, women, spending our life trying to be someone important instead of seeing ourselves as being of importance.
‘In crowd’
Are you in with the ‘in crowd’? Do you live in the ‘in place’? Are you seen at, or can you talk about the latest ‘in events’?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this if that is what you’ve chosen to do. I wonder though what is behind that choice – if you actually made it a choice– your why. Is it to –
- make you feel important?
- feel included?
- be above the rest of the crowd?
- feel worthwhile?
- feel you’ve earned the right to be there
- make you feel you’ve made it (whatever ‘it’ is)
- make you different from others
- be looked up to
- Or …………
‘I’m in with the In Crowd’
It may even be that whenever you are ‘in’, you have a laugh and a giggle about where you are now in life from where you have come. Again that’s not an issue as, for some, the journey may have been quite something and you deserve that feeling of celebration. You have made it!! You’ve got to be where you’ve always strived to be. Remember that song – ‘I’m in with the In Crowd’? Well that’s where you are and well done to you.
So what?
You may even be saying to yourself – “now I can focus on what is really important to me”. The striving was a means to an end. Perhaps what’s important to you could be –
- give something back to society
- actually live your life
- enjoy being you
- speak your truth
- actually do something important
- focus on what matters most to you
You just do it!
When you choose to do something that is a positive action, this adds to you being a woman of importance. Why? Because you’ll be looking at you with your own eyes, not the world’s or any of your own shoulds, musts, or have to’s. You’ll have chosen to do it because it is something you feel passionate about. It is of importance to you. No big song and dance either!! You just do it. It is of such great importance to you that you do it regardless of any benefit to yourself. And, it may mean that you do create a song and dance in some cases, as you want to gain support for whatever it is you have chosen (small or big) to put into action.
And remember – you are a Woman of Importance because you are you!!!
I’d love you to share with me what your unconscious drives are about making a difference in life.
